Healthy Hot & Spicy Cocoa
A personal favorite in our house, this sumptuously spiced, healthy hot cocoa is warming, tasty and filled with antioxidants and lots of anti-inflammatory spices! So, forget the guilt, and take a moment to relax and enjoy this deliciously decadent drink.
1 cup almond, coconut or hemp milk
1 ½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder or 1 tablespoon raw cacao
Splash of vanilla extract
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Sprinkle of chili powder
Sprinkle of ground nutmeg
Sprinkle of ground cloves
Raw honey or liquid stevia to taste
Heat the plant-based milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat until lukewarm. Stir in the cocoa or cacao powder and honey (or stevia) into the warmed liquid until dissolved. Add the vanilla and other spices. Heat another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sip then savor!
