Apple Pie Green Smoothie
What do you get when you mix the tastes & flavors of apple pie with some sneaky greens? An amazing glass of goodness that will keep you energized and happy for hours. The addition of nut butter gives this a touch of good-for-you creaminess, while the oats add a bit of heartiness for days when you need a little more than blended up berries. Drink up!
6-8 ounces almond milk (use less for a thicker smoothie)
2 handfuls any combination of greens, including spinach or kale
1 apple, cored and cubed
1 frozen banana, sliced & frozen
1 tablespoon cashew or almond butter (tahini works too)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Splash of vanilla
Dash of nutmeg
2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats (replace with flax seeds for a nut-free version)
1 tablespoon or a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder
Frozen and steamed cauliflower or zucchini for added nutrients and creaminess!
Mix & Match Toppings: tahini drizzle, chopped apples, chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts, pecan
Mix all ingredients in a high-speed blender and then garnish with your favorite toppings. Drink up!
