A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

by Elise Museles

I feel like wishing you all a Happy New Year.  I know that seems ridiculous since we are three quarters of the way through 2012.  But to me, this time of year feels like new beginnings more than the actual new year.  Perhaps it’s the change of season, the back to school frenzy, or the fact that the less structured and carefree days of summer are over.  As you start to ease your way into a routine, think of it as an opportunity for real change with limitless possibilities.

To help you get in touch with how you want to show up in the “new year” or in the remaining part of this year, I have put together a feast for your eyes accompanied with inspirational quotes that will surely delight your senses and turn your focus on what truly nourishes your mind, body & spirit…or what I call your Soul Greens.

As a break from the usual blog post format (about a thousand words), enjoy the collection of images from Robert Sturman~Artist /Photografía Extraordinaire.

Question of the Day: What inspires you during this season of change? Share your quotes and stories below.

Dedicated yoga practitioner himself, Sturman’s work has increasingly focused on capturing the timeless grace and embodied mindfulness of asana. His portraits, whether set in the lively streets of Manhattan, the expansiveness of Malibu’s beaches and canyons, the timeless elegance of Walden’s New England, or the bleakness of San Quentin Prison, remind us that there is beauty everywhere. In Sturman’s own words “I often think of Rumi: ‘I can’t stop pointing to the beauty.’ That feels right to me.”
